What is Reformer Pilates good for?

Reformer Pilates is a highly versatile and beneficial form of exercise and rehab. It can be good for a variety of things, including:

  • Building Core Strength

The reformer’s movements primarily engage your core muscles, resulting in a stronger and more stable core. Your core is your ‘Powerhouse’ from which everything moves from.

  • Improving Flexibility

The reformer allows for a wide range of motion and stretching exercises, promoting improved flexibility that’s essential for overall mobility and posture. In the words of Joseph Pilates: ‘You are only as old as your spine is flexible’.

  • Enhancing Muscle Tone

By targeting specific muscle groups, Reformer Pilates helps tone and sculpt your body, giving you a lean and well-defined physique. Joseph Pilates believed: ‘In 10 classes you will feel the difference, 20 classes you see the difference and in 30 classes you have a whole new body’.

  • Alleviating Back Pain

The controlled movements and the emphasis on better/correct alignment can help alleviate back pain by strengthening muscles that support the spine.
